NLEX Corporation is busy making upgrades on the expressway. Besides performing rehabilitation works on the Bigaa and Meycauyan bridges, the company is also doing some work on the Candaba Viaduct.
According to NLEX Corporation, a 3-kilometer southbound portion of the viaduct is closed to traffic from May 21 to; May 22, 2021. The closed-off sections cover KM 52 – KM 49 if coming from San Fernando, Pampanga.
From 10:00 PM until 4:00 AM, workers will install thormajoints at the 25th location – KM 51+939. Last night, the company was already able to put thormajoints at the 24th location – KM51+737.
The expressway's management will put counterflow lanes to ease the flow of traffic. These are along the northbound portion for Manila-bound vehicles. Traffic patrol crews/marshals will also be deployed, along with directional signs to guide motorists.
NLEX Corporation wishes to advise motorists to plan their trips and to expect heavy traffic near the area. Motorists are also advised to take alternate routes if necessary to avoid downtime while traveling along the expressway.
