Famed Audi tuner ABT Sportsline has just released a rather unorthodox teaser video.
The German tuning house known for handling power and aesthetic upgrades for many Audi and Volkswagen models is working on taking the RS6, already the most brutally powerful wagon in the market, to new heights.
In a very brief video posted on the company's official Facebook page, ABT Sportsline gave a short preview of what will be known as the RS6-E, showing a few angles such as the wheels, the front fender, badging and what looks to be an all-electric engine bay.
They didn't release any information apart from the #E1000 on the lower door, from which we could surmise that they're working on having the car develop up to 1000 horsepower with the help of electric power.
It's not far fetched to think that the company is working on an electrified version of the Audi RS6; ABT is already racing as Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler in Formula E, notching up 9 wins and the driver's championship in the 2016-2017 season. Audi is likewise working on the e-tron; a 5-seat all-electric SUV.
In an odd twist the video also showed several people on a bucket seat to experience the “acceleration” of the RS6-E, one of whom was Formula E driver Daniel Abt. Of course it was just an exaggeration; it appears they used a very powerful blower or fan for the video, unless they suddenly drove an RS6-E without a windshield.
Details are still sketchy, but ABT Sportsline did announce that they will reveal what they've been working on today (July 5) with a live reveal on Facebook.
