Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has just launched the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, following in the success of the 5 Series Gran Turismo and offering the dynamic, sports genes of a sedan with the practicality and versatility of a wagon.
“Aesthetic appeal, space and functionality: these three make up the All-New BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, a high-caliber addition to the BMW 3 Series range that targets the premium mid-size segment,” said Maricar Parco, ACC President.
The all new 3 Series GT sports typical BMW proportions with four doors, frameless windows, a coupe-style, gently downward-sloping roofline and a large, automatically opening and closing tailgate with an active rear spoiler – the first of its type on a BMW.
The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is 200 millimeters longer than the BMW 3 Series Sedan, and comes with a longer wheelbase and stands taller overall. However, the clever use of proportions, surfaces and lines ensures that the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is immediately recognizable as a member of the new BMW 3 Series range.
The 3 Series GT uses a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine for an efficient and powerful drive. The engine is combined with an 8 speed automatic transmission.
The cabin provides more space, leg and headroom than the sedan, allowing passengers ride in better comfort for longer distances. The front and rear passengers all benefit from a seating position raised by 59 millimeters for better views and easier ingress/egress.
“The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo exudes the performance of a sports sedan, but at the same time offers immense practicality and extra space that can be used in many ways – making it the only model of its kind in its segment today,” concluded Parco.
The 3 Series Gran Turismo is offered in three distinct lines with unique design accents: Luxury (chrome trime), Modern (satin silver trim), and Sport (piano black trim). All BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo variants are priced at PhP 3,890,000.
The 3 Series GT is currently on display at the BMW XPO in Bonifacio Global City. The XPO runs until Sunday, October 6.
