Subaru PH's second launch of 2021 will be the all-new Outback

Back in December 2020, Subaru said they will launch six new models in the country within the next two years. These include the Evoltis, XV, Outback, BRZ, WRX, and Levorg. While we know what to expect, they didn't mention a specific timeline or the order of launches.

The all-new Outback is the sixth-generation model in over 25 years. It made its debut in mid-2019 and it now rides on the new, flexible Subaru Global Platform. It also gains two new engines, one of them being the 2.4-liter boxer turbo used in the Evoltis. Subaru also updated the non-turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, bumping up its power to 182 PS. Claimed fuel economy is 14 kilometers per liter for the base 2.5-liter engine.

Cargo space behind the second-row is rated at 920 liters. The maximum volume is 2,144 liters with the back seats folded. There is no third-row option for the Outback.

For now, it is unknown what the local-spec Outback will be like. However, it does come standard with a host of tech and safety features. These include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Subaru's EyeSight safety suite. It packs active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering, automatic braking for both forward and reverse, and even driver monitoring. Subaru even kept the unique roof crossbars for the all-new model.
