Last week, some LTO employees tested positive after undergoing rapid testing. As a result, some offices were closed until further notice. Now, there's a bit of good news.

After temporarily closing the affected offices to the public, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that certain offices under LTO-NCR West have been reopened. The LTO-Caloocan District Office, LTO-Kalookan Licensing Extension Office, Manila South District Office, LTO Araneta Square Mall, and the NCR West – Regional Office reopened yesterday, June 8, 2020.

The temporarily closed offices had to undergo deep cleaning and disinfection in order to prevent any more employees and individuals from possibly catching the virus. That way, both LTO employees and customers are safe from COVID-19 while at the district and extension offices.

As for those who tested positive, the asymptomatic employees will have to undergo the RT-PCR/swab test for confirmation. Meanwhile, all of the employees that came into close contact who tested positive have been ordered to complete 14 days of quarantine in order to ensure public safety.

With more LTO offices resuming operations in Metro Manila, motorists that seek to renew their licenses/registrations can now do so. For those who have to go to  LTO offices soon, they must wear face masks within the premises. They must also observe physical/social distancing guidelines at all times.
