For over a decade, Universal Glass Co., Inc, the parent company of the famous Aguila Auto Glass, has faithfully and reliably partnered with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation toward the common goal of putting less fortunate Filipinos into affordable, livable, and secure homes.
Aguila Auto Glass’ long-standing partnership with Gawad Kalinga is just one of their many Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Starting with their very first residential glass donation in 2008 for the Gawad Kalinga project in Villa Paraiso Paranaque City, Aguila has consistently donated to help to succeed Gawad Kalinga projects in other cities within Luzon, such as Trece Martires and Dasmariñas in Cavite; Pililla, Rizal; Paranaque, and in the Bicol Region.
Apart from keeping the volunteer-built Gawad Kalinga homes protected from unauthorized entry, the renowned quality of Aguila residential glass also helps keep out harsh elements, as well as pests that can spread infectious diseases, particularly during the six-month-long rainy season.
To minimize storage space on site and possible damage from unforeseen circumstances, Aguila Auto Glass delivers the materials in manageable weights over several batches, depending on the location of the Gawad Kalinga site. Logistics are well-coordinated per project.
For the Dasmariñas site, the closest site immediately outside Metro Manila accessible through Aguinaldo Highway, Aguila Auto Glass could still be delivered even in unfavorable weather, which contributed greatly to the punctual completion of the project and subsequent turnover to their new residents.
I would like to thank Aguila Auto Glass for wholeheartedly extending their donation to Gawad Kalinga; their donation to us is a big factor for constructing homes for the less fortunate here).
"Our partnership with Gawad Kalinga is our humble share in nation building," says Federico A. Borromeo, COO, EVP.
Overseeing the donations are Borromeo himself and Aguila Auto Glass Division Manager Gigi H. Rosales.
Aguila Auto Glass remains clearly committed to its partnership with the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation to reach its target of providing homes and restoring dignity to five million Filipinos.
