All-new 2016 Jaguar XF to make high-wire debut

Will be the second model to feature aluminum-intensive architecture

Ahead of its official launch at the 2015 New York International Auto Show on April 1, the all-new 2016 Jaguar XF is set to cross the pond for a public stunt demo for all the spectators to witness.

Driven by expert British stuntman Jim Dowdall, who has performed action scenes in Bond, Bourne and Indiana Jones films, the all-new 2016 Jaguar XF will attempt the world’s first ever high-wire water crossing on March 24, 2015.

The drive across 34mm diameter wires suspended high above water is meant to underscore the lightweight benefits of the highly advanced aluminum-intensive architecture of the all-new 2016 Jaguar XF.

Live feeds of the feat will be streamed globally via at 3:00PM EST (19:00 GMT) on March 24.

"I believe the all-new Jaguar XF will be the best looking car in its class. Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity - the all-new XF will be true to the strong tradition of sporting Jaguar sedans while being completely of its time," said Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar.

The second-generation all-new 2016 Jaguar XF will make its global debut at the New York Auto Show on April 1 when the full range and technical details will also be released.
