Mini Asia and British United Automobiles Inc. recently announced the launch of the new Mini 3-Door, Mini 5-Door, and Mini Convertible in the Philippines. Sporting several exterior and interior updates, the hot hatch gets a sportier look, along with new and updated technologies for a more high-tech and sporty driving experience.

Starting with the exterior, the hatchback features a new hexagonal surround on the grille that gives it a more aggressive look. The LED headlights, meanwhile, get new black inner housings that make them more expressive. Don't expect to see any foglights as those have been replaced by vertical air inlets that aim to optimize aerodynamics.

At the rear, a reduced surface design characterizes the Mini. A black surround picks up the hexagonal shape of the radiator grille. On the Cooper variants, the hexagon frames a clean and sophisticated surface with one tailpipe on the side. For the Cooper S models, an additional sweeping element in body color houses the black twin tailpipes. Across all variants, the new Mini features the rear LED lights in the Union Jack design, and the rear fog light is now integrated into the rear apron as a narrow LED unit.

Those that prefer their Mini with a retractable roof can get the all-new Convertible. It gets the same level of features and updates but has the added benefit of a soft-top. According to Mini, the folding roof can be opened and closed within 18 seconds. Moreover, it can be activated while driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h.

Like the exterior, Mini also did some changes inside the new Mini hatchbacks. It gets a newly-designed steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. It comes standard across all model variants of the 3-Door, 5-Door, and Convertible and comes with piano black-painted controls. Depending on the model chosen, the dashboard panel can be finished in black, silver, or aluminum.

The 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment has been updated and now gets new graphics, along with piano black high-gloss surfaces. In addition, the audio control unit, as well as the function buttons for hazard warning lights and driver assistance systems are integrated even more harmoniously into the circular control unit. A new surface design with laser engraving optimizes the appearance of the LED light ring surrounding the central instrument. The operating system controller placed on the center console now features an all-black surface in conjunction with the navigation system.
