A few weeks ago, we managed to get the prices of the 2022 Subaru BRZ. Based on their website, the all-new BRZ will start at PHP 2.399 million for the manual. If you prefer an automatic version of the BRZ (with EyeSight), it will retail for PHP 2.499 million.
So we already know the prices of the 2022 BRZ. But when will they actually launch it in the country? According to Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas, the two-door sports coupe will be available starting next year.
During a press conference, Tan Chong Limited Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Glenn Tan announced that the next-generation BRZ will be coming to the Philippines in April 2022. That means the two-door will be arriving earlier than the WRX sedan and wagon which are scheduled to debut in June 2022.
What can we expect from the all-new BRZ? For starters, it gets a new Boxer engine under the hood. It's now powered by a 2.4-liter, naturally-aspirated flat-four engine. It makes 228 PS with 249 Nm of torque; 28 PS and 44 Nm more than the previous 2.0-liter Boxer engine. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic with sequential shift.
Other features that we can expect to find in the all-new BRZ include a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a bigger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a bolder-looking exterior than its predecessor.
With the BRZ set to make its local debut four months from now, does this mean the all-new Toyota 86 will follow suit? Let's wait and see.
