Volkswagen teases the T-Cross anew via design renderings

Volkswagen is about to turn up the heat in the lucrative mini crossover scene. About three months ago, the Wolfsburg-based automaker first previewed an all-new contender in the B-segment crossover, the T-Cross. Aimed directly against the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V and Nissan Juke, the T-Cross will blend unique styling elements along with a high-tech cabin in a compact package.

Now, Volkswagen has released new design renderings of the all-new T-Cross before its reveal in the coming months.

Looking at the images provided, the Volkswagen T-Cross stays true to the company's current design language. It has a masculine-inspired design that blends nicely with soft edges. The front fascia is dominated by a wide front grill, along with eye-catching headlights. Below it is the stylish front bumper gets additional chrome trim and huge foglights. All in all, it appearsr the T-Cross' face resembles that of both the new Tiguan as well as the T-Roc.

Over to its rear, the T-Cross comes with full-width taillights that are spruced up by what appears to be a body-colored trim piece. It even gets a roof-mounted spoiler and reflectors on the lower rear bumper for added sportiness. Rounding everything up are the huge five-spoke alloy wheels that are shod in the wheel wells.

Besides giving a closer look at the exterior, Volkswagen also released a design sketch of the T-Cross' interior. With an emphasis on giving occupants a sleek cabin paired with augmented reality features, it has a futuristic look that features a dual monitor design for the dashboard. The driver's side gets a fully-digital instrument panel while the center dashboard has a touchscreen infotainment system.

Engines that will be available on the T-Cross remain a mystery. However, do expect it to come with a plethora of downsized turbocharged gasoline engines that can be mated to either a manual or dual-clutch automatic transmissions.

Volkswagen is set to hold the world premiere of the T-Cross in the next few months.
