Toyota's IMV (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) platform is set for a major revamp in the next fifteen to sixteen months. Toyota Motor Philippines, the country's largest automaker is set to debut the new-generation Innova MPV in early 2016.

The 2016 Toyota Innova launch will follow the Hilux pickup which is scheduled to debut sometime Q3 this year. The new-generation Fortuner meanwhile, is rumored to be debuting sometime in Q3 of 2016.

Our sources have told us that all models under the IMV platform will be underpinned by an improved ladder frame albeit having a similar wheelbase.

Alleged leaked images of the 2016 Toyota Innova have pointed to a more boxy design with slim rectangular headlamps and a large center grill.

Expected engine options for the Innova would be the new 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV CRDi turbo diesel inline-4 (likely detuned) and a carryover of the 2.0-liter 1R-FE VVT-i 4-cylinder gasoline engine.

The Fortuner on the other hand, is expected to follow the Hilux's 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV and 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV diesel engine options with an additional gas-fed 2.7-liter variant.
