It looks like the cat is pretty much out of the bag for BMW's updated flagship luxury sedan.
Yesterday, a photo of what appeared to be the refreshed 7 Series was recently posted by an Instagram user. Based on the picture itself, the sedan gets a pretty comprehensive facelift as it looks nothing like the current model BMW has.
Now, a new set of images of what could be the 2020 BMW 7 Series have made their way onto the web once more. Unlike yesterday's Instagram post, the new set of pictures appear to be official press photos that have been leaked ahead of the 7 Series' official launch.
Looking at the refreshed sedan from all angles, the flagship car does appear to get an X7-like facelift for its latest update. Sitting proudly up front are the massive dual kidney grill and a sleeker set of LED matrix headlights. Also changed is the front bumper which now comes with bigger air intakes and a sportier look overall.
Towards the back, the changes on the 7 Series are much more subtle. Slimmer LED taillights, along with a slightly tweaked rear bumper appear to be the only revisions made by BMW. Clearly new, however, is the updated trim piece on the lower section of the doors. Dubbed the 'hockey stick' by BMW enthusiasts, its design has been changed as it now sits upright and extends longer than before.
Apparently, it is set to make its official debut some time next week. Could this mean the 2020 7 Series will make an appearance at the 2019 North American International Auto Show? We'll have to wait and see.
