Mitsubishi Montero Sport earns top marks in ASEAN NCAP crash tests
The ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) has recently evaluated the Mitsubishi Montero Sport and posted high marks in occupant safety. In the offset crash test, the Montero Sport scored 15.29 points out of the total 16.00 points, giving the the ASEAN NCAP's highest rating of 5 stars in Adult Occupancy Protection.
Meanwhile, it earned a 4-star rating at 76-percent for Child Occupant Protection (COP) with the child seat lock ISOFIX. It also received a 5 star-rating from Latin NCAP as well as ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program).
In addition to the 5-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP test, the Montero Sport posted high marks in other crash tests. For the Latin NCAP and Austrialian NCAP, it garnered 5 stars, showing the consistency of the Montero Sport in crash test performance. In other countries, the Montero Sport is also called the Pajero Sport.
On top of the strong showing of the Montero Sport's passive safety systems such as the crumple zones, Mitsubishi's pick-up platform vehicle also comes with an array of active safety features. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport is available with Forward Collision Mitigation System, Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System, Active Stability Control, Active Traction Control, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
