Asiatype Introduces new Vector Portable GPS Navigation System
Never get lost again
Asiatype Group of Companies, the leading publisher of printed maps in the Philippines, introduces Vector - a Global Positioning System (GPS) portable navigation device that allows even those with limited road knowledge to easily find their way around.
Vector receives GPS signals from global navigation satellites that determine the device's current location. Its electronic maps, route plotting, and turn-by-turn directions allow the user to input his intended destination for instructions on getting there from his current location.
Vector's tried-and-tested software comes from NDrive, a leading European provider of navigation services to mobile platforms in over 50 countries worldwide (customers include prominent brands such as HP, Samsung, HTC, and Toshiba). This system ensures an accuracy rate of +/- 3 meters (industry standard is +/- 15 meters), as well as street-level coverage. Vector now covers Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Pampanga, Baguio, Bulacan, Bacolod, Cebu, Tarlac, Rizal, Subic, Olongapo, and Metro Manila, with almost 38,000 points of interests as of October 2010.
"Asiatype has 13 years of experience in building map data which is constantly updated by local GPS surveyors and cartographers," says Anne Gauthier, Marketing Manager of Vector. "Asiatype's maps are not just diagrams of streets. They have landmarks, traffic flows, access points and appropriate representational icons, and indexes of streets and buildings." With this mapping expertise and system inside VECTOR, we believe that we have the most accurate and updated maps in navigation devices. This is what sets Vector apart from the rest!
One of its key features is its extensive listing of points of interest. From hospitals to government agencies to malls and restaurants, find your way with VECTOR. In addition - Vector is also incorporated with features such as Bluetooth hands-free calling, an FM transmitter, and a multimedia photo viewer and music and video player to name a few.
Local after-sales support is available through e-mail, phone, and web forums. SRP is Php13,900, which is 20-30% lower than competitors'. While it has better features, Vector is 20-30% cheaper than other navigation devices in the market. Vector also partnered with NDRIVE, a worldwide provider of navigation services to mobile platforms, to make sure that its software is easy enough for anyone to use.
Vector is now available in the following stores in Metro Manila: SM Appliance Centers in SM North EDSA - The Block, Rockwell Center, SM Megamall, SM Makati and SM Mall of Asia), 7Eleven Caltex Stores in Malugay, Connecticut, Filinvest, Mckinley San Juan, Sta.
