Aston Martin enters new era as turbocharged Vantage hits production

First turbocharged Aston Martin Vantage rolls out of Gaydon

Eager to get your hands on the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage? You're in luck as the company officially announced that it has started production of the all-new sports car. First revealed back in November 2017 (launched later for Southeast Asia during the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show), the next-generation Vantage builds upon the success of its predecessor. The all-new 'Baby Aston' features an athletic and sporty design that is helped along by a Mercedes-AMG-developed twin-turbo V8.

A simple ceremony was held at the company's Gaydon facility in Warwickshire to officially mark the start of production for the all-new Vantage. Key personnel that attended the event were Aston Martin CEO and president Dr. Andy Palmer and UK's Secretary of State for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy Greg Clark.

“Today marks an exciting moment for the entire company and an important day in the history of Aston Martin. The outgoing Vantage was the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history and we believe its successor will surpass that. We will do this by retention of our important existing owners and through repositioning of the car, create new customers in new countries,” said Dr. Andy Palmer, president and CEO of Aston Martin.

For Clark, he stated that Aston Martin is an iconic brand that is integral of Britain's proud automotive heritage.

“Through our modern Industrial Strategy we are building on this success, and the new Vantage is a British-built car exemplifying the skill and innovation that sets the UK auto sector apart from its competitors,” added Clark.

Fist customer deliveries of the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage will commence later this month.
