The luxury automaker from Gaydon, UK is celebrating the upcoming release of the latest Bond film 'Spectre' with the limited DB9 GT Bond Edition. Only 150 units will be built, all of which will carry a unique paint finish, exclusive exterior and interior equipment and Bond-themed accessories.
“Aston Martin and James Bond are intrinsically linked in the minds of many of our enthusiasts and, indeed, owners, worldwide,” said Dr. Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin.
Immediately apparent from the outside is the Spectre Silver paint and Aston Martin badging made from sterling silver. Also seen is a subtle 007 Bond Edition badging made from the same material. Other features present on the Bond Edition car include: ten-spoke gloss black 20-inch wheels, aluminum hood vents, side strakes and grill. It also has a carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser.
Aboard the coupe, more Bond styling cues are applied in the cabin. Open the doors and one will immediately see the car's unique numbered sill plaques that also feature the 007 logo. All of the seats are upholstered in fluted leather while the steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara.
The center console features a satin carbon fiber finish and the center divider has a gun barrel embroidery that provides a distinct contrast to the lavish interior. Topping it all off is a special Bond Edition start-up screen on the onboard infotainment system.
Under the hood lives the 6.0-liter naturally-aspirated V12 that generates 547 PS at 6,750 rpm along with 620 Nm of torque available at 5,500 rpm. All of that power is then transferred to the rear wheels via the mid-mounted Touchtronic 6-speed gearbox that features an electronic shift-by-wire technology. With it, the DB9 GT can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 295 km/h.
Apart from the special edition car, Aston Martin will also offer two unique accessories that will complement the DB9 GT. First is the special Globe Trotter case that has an embossed leather luggage and an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150mm James Bond Limited Edition that has a bespoke Aston Martin strap.
“I’m sure the 150 owners worldwide who succeed in acquiring one of these exceptional sports cars will, like the rest of us, delight in seeing Spectrewhen it is released later this year,” added Palmer.
The Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition is now available for order in markets around the world and retails for GBP 165,000 (about PhP 11.8 million).
