Aston Martin's flagship GT makes local debut
It was first shown in Los Angeles late last year and now, it has arrived in the Philppines. Aston Martin's flagship GT, the Vanquish S, has just made its local debut. A step above the standard Vanquish, the British automaker's range-topper features a more aggressive exterior, an enhanced aerodynamic package, uprated powertrain and an upgraded chassis.
At the heart of the Vanquish S is a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 588 PS. It then shifts via an eight-speed automatic transmission billed Touchtronic III. Touchtronic III also allows the driver to take full control of the transmission via the paddle shifters. With that combination, the Vanquish S dispatches the 0 to 100 km/h run in just 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 323 km/h.
There are visual cues that separate it from the non-S models. At the front, the slats on the grill have been replaced by a honeycomb treatment. The lower section of the front bumper is also different to make way for the Vanquish S' aerodynamic package. It mainly consists of exposed carbon fiber with a 2x2 front splitter and an integrated rear diffuser, neatly integrated into the rear bumper.
Further differentiating the Vanquish S from the standard model are the quad exhaust pipes at the rear. It also comes with five-spoke diamond cut wheels with a design exclusive to this model. More carbon fiber detailing can be seen on th hood louvers and the side mirror caps. The rest of the car's body meanwhile is lifted straight from the standard Vanquish models.
Inside, the 2017 Vanquish S is trimmed in quilted leather called Filograph. This can be seen on the seats, as well as the GT coupe's headliner. Also trimmed in leather is its dashboard, interior door panels and the center console.
The Filograph trim can be specified in a variety of colors and options. In the case of this particular Vanquish S, it is Sahara Tan with black inserts. Also available in the Vanquish S is a Bang & Olufsen sound system while the AMi III Infotainment system is now packing an all-new navigation system. There's also a Satin Chopped carbon fiber plate to remind those stepping in their in Aston Martin's top of the line GT.
Local deliveries for the 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish S have now begun.
