There’s nothing like seeing a sexy sports car out on the road. From its sleek lines, shapely contours, as well as its distinct silhouette, getting to see one of these cars up close is a treat in of itself.
Perhaps one of the most good-looking sports cars out there is the Aston Martin DB11. It serves as the brand’s latest flagship grand tourer and is available with either a V12 or V8 under the hood. Aston Martin wants you to turn on 'dark mode' courtesy of a new special edition trim.
It’s called the Shadow Edition, and it gives the grand tourer a darker and more sinister appearance. The DB11 Shadow Edition combines selected options already available for the sports car but has been enhanced for the special appearance pack. Neat touches of gloss black, black chrome, and anodized black finishes highlight the Shadow Edition’s darker hue.
“We have carefully selected the Shadow Edition design elements to subtly yet noticeably alter the DB11’s appearance – moving it further towards a more assertive and purposeful GT style. By painstakingly packaging together key styling elements in the new Shadow Edition we have given this small group of DB11 V8-powered sports cars their own visual character that clearly marks them out as new and different,” said Marek Reichman, executive vice president and chief creative officer in Aston Martin.
Starting with the hood vents and the 20-inch directional alloy wheels, both of these components are painted gloss black for a sportier finish. Meanwhile, polished black chrome wings and script badges replace the traditional exterior brightwork. Finally, the door sill plaques are finished in anodized black.
Besides the exterior, Aston Martin also installed a sports steering wheel with pure black Alcantara and Obsidian Black leather. And should owners want to drape the car further with black and optional gloss black roof panel replaces the body-colored unit for a darker finish.
Only one engine is available for the DB11 Shadow Edition, the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8. It cranks out 510 PS with 675 Nm of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The DB11 Shadow Edition is now available worldwide in either Coupe or Volante body styles although only 300 examples will be made for the global market. In case you really want to get the special DB11, better make your way to Aston Martin Manila in BGC right away and reserve yourself a unit.
