First Aston Martin Volante to feature a full carbon Fiber body
Aston Martin unveiled today its ultimate convertible GT, the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. The Vanquish Volante mixes the dynamic driving character of the Vanquish with the benefit of the excitement that comes with driving a convertible.
“This car is what luxury super GT driving is all about. Great performance, fantastic style and exhilarating Volante motoring in one superb package." states Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez.
Unique to the Volante was its body structure that's completely made out of carbon-fiber; it's also the brand's first time in its 100-year history to release a production car that's fully skinned by carbon fiber. It's fabric roof makes use of triple-skin type of lightweight fabric to minimize weight and takes just 14 seconds to fold down.
It is also the first time that Aston Martin made use of a full height windscreen in its convertible models which enables the fabric roof and the windscreen to create a clean transition.
It retains the coupe's 565 hp AM11 6.0-liter V12 engine as well as its 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.1 seconds and its top speed of 294.51 km/h. New springs and damper settings makes sure that it handles and rides like a coupe. Stopping the car is Brembo's third generation Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes that weighs lighter and stops the car faster as compared to conventional carbon brakes.
“This is not simply a great-looking car – this is a great car engineered and crafted for the connoisseur by people dedicated to delivering exceptional sports cars with clearly defined characters.” adds Dr. Ulrich Bez
Deliveries of the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante are expected to start early next year and has a price that starts at $297,995 (PhP12.86M)
