Aston Martin has renamed its Vantage GT3 to GT12 after Porsche complained that the “GT3” tag was originally theirs.
As previously reported, Porsche's lawyers contested that the "GT3" name originally belongs to them. The German automaker has used the "GT3" moniker for a race-ready variant of the Porsche 911.
With this, Aston Martin decided to avoid a costly lawsuit by voluntarily renaming the model as Vantage GT12.
The said vehicle is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that delivers 600 PS and is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Aston Martin claims that the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 297 km/h.
