Audi A1, A4, and A5 wins "The Best Cars of 2012" award
Following major success from its market debut nearly a year ago, Audi's most compact model, the A1, is finally here in the Philippines.
This small compact car from Audi is fitted with a turbocharged 1.4-liter TFS engine with the S tronic dual-clutch transmission, and claims to have a combined fuel consumption of 18.86km/liter, it seems to be the perfect Audi for the Philippine market. The seven-speed S tronic meanwhile makes shifting process fast and with no detectable interruption of power.
The McPherson at the front and the torsion-beam rear suspension with separate springs and dampers, and ESP stabilization program with electronic limited slip differential makes the Audi A1 extremely agile.
Its safety features offers a comprehensive range of equipment. The safety package comprises two front airbags, thorax/pelvic side airbags and curtain head airbags. Belt tensioners and belt force limiters plus the Audi integral headrest system round out the package. Isofix child seat anchor points in the rear are also standard.
All these features of the Audi A1 is what made it won the overall victory in the small car category for leading German automotive magazine auto motor und sport's (ams) “Best Cars of 2012” earlier this year. Among the 311 models from all brands for which votes could be cast, Audi claimed overall victory twice with the A1 in the small car category and the A4/A5 in the midsize segment. A total of 37.9 percent of participating readers voted for the A1.
