If you ever dropped by the Audi Philippines showrooms either in Alabang, EDSA, or BGC, you may have noticed an interesting vehicle in the background. No, we're not talking about the new RS performance line vehicles. Instead, the company now has posters of their first electric crossover – the e-tron – tacked up in the showroom.

Now, just because an automaker displays a poster doesn't necessarily mean the vehicle will arrive be here. But, the vehicle is also listed on the Audi Philippines website, and that got us thinking. We decided to ask around, and a source has confirmed that the electric SUV will officially be making its way to the Philippines. Unfortunately, details such as specs and powertrain have yet to be confirmed. There's no official date of the launch as well. Instead, we were told that it will arrive sometime next year, in 2022.

As mentioned earlier, the e-tron is Audi's first all-electric model. It was launched way back in September 2018. Since then, other models have used the name, including the newly launched e-tron GT and the e-tron Sportback. Design-wise, the e-tron looks very much like any other model from Audi's Q crossover lineup. Upfront, there's still the single-frame grille flanked by a pair of slim LED headlights. Meanwhile, Audi's signature full-width LED taillights remain. It's the same story inside with a cabin that looks like any other Audi model.

Depending on the variant, the e-tron packs either a 71 kWh or 95 kWh lithium-ion battery. The maximum range is rated at 357 kilometers. Similar to other Audi models, it also comes standard with Quattro all-wheel drive using two electric motors. Combined, these motors produce a maximum output of 408 PS and 664 Nm torque.

Once the e-tron arrives sometime next year, don't be surprised if Audi Philippines brings in other EV models, including the e-tron Sportback and the e-tron GT.
