Audi Philippines is starting 2021 with a big statement. PGA Cars Inc, the official distributor of Audi in the country, has just launched its latest sports sedan.
This is the 2021 Audi RS 3 Sedan, and it’s looking to go one-on-one with the likes of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45.
At the heart of the RS 3 Sedan is a highly-tuned 2.5-liter TFSI, five-cylinder engine which won was voted as the International Engine of The Year last 2018. According to Audi, this particular engine is the most powerful series-produced five-cylinder in the world.
It makes an impressive 400 PS along with 480 Nm of torque. Compared to the CLA 45, the RS 3 Sedan makes 13 more PS. Torque, however, is the same as Mercedes-AMG’s. Mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission, the RS 3 Sedan can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.
Complementing the potent five-cylinder engine is an RS sport exhaust system. At high revs, flaps in the exhaust system open in order the make the notes sound fuller and louder. The opening and closing of the flaps can be controlled from within the cabin via the Audi drive select.
To make sure the RS 3 Sedan stays planted to the pavement, it comes with quattro all-wheel-drive as standard, along with magnetic ride suspension which constantly adapts the car’s dampers, depending on road conditions.
As for its design, the RS 3 Sedan features a massive Singleframe grille, blacked-out air vents, huge RS alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, a ducktail spoiler, flared wheel arches, large oval-shaped exhaust finishers, and a sexy pair of LED taillights and headlights.
