Audi Philippines officially welcomed the new Q3 compact SUV to the Philippine market amidst a glamorous red carpet event with celebrities and special guests. The Q3 was officially unveiled by Audi Philippines Head Benedicto Coyiuto and 2012 Miss Universe 1st Runner-up Janine Tugonon.
The exterior design features coupe-like lines to express a sporty character, making it look distinctly Audi are the single-frame trapezoidal grill and the wedge-shaped Xenon headlights highlighted with the Audi signature LED daytime running lights. Audi's latest addition to its stable in the premium vehicle segment competes with the likes of the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLK, MINI Countryman and Volvo XC60. Size-wise the Q3 closely compares to the Countryman rather than its other competitors.
Inside, the Q3 borrows design elements from his bigger siblings while offering high standards of ergonomics and workmanship. It seats five passengers comfortably with a cargo space of 460-liters which can be increased to 1,365-liters with the rear seat backs folded. The Philippine release comes with the 'concert' audio package paired with the Audi music interface, LED interior lighting, storage package, voice command, and leather seats.
Under the hood is a 2.0-liter TDI quattro engine rated at 177 PS and 380 Nm paired with a 7-speed Audi S-Tronic dual clutch transmission. The dual-clutch transmission has a free-wheeling mode which saves fuel when the vehicle is coasting with the 'efficiency' mode activated.
The new Audi Q3 2.0 TDI quattro retails for Php3,390,000.
