Auto Shanghai 2011: Citroen DS5
Making its world premiere at the 2011 Auto Shanghai is the Citroën DS5. Designed to express the full extent of Citroën's 'Créative Technologie', the all new DS5 combines a new style statement for the French automaker along with driving dynamics and high levels of refinement to be expected from Citroën.
The design of the car asserts itself as a member of the DS family with the oversized air intake, a large chrome-finished grille housing the chevrons of Citroën and a new LED light signature. The car stands firmly on wide tracks, emphasised by two tail pipes built into the rear bumper and highlighted by a rear signature featuring six light guides.
DS5 is the first Citroën model to feature HYbrid4 diesel hybrid technology, providing enhanced performance and class leading environmental credentials. The new HYbrid4 system delivers 200 horsepower, four-wheel drive capability, emission-free electric power for the city and an acceleration boost function for the open road.
The DS line already features several models in different market segments with the supermini DS3, the 5-door hatchback DS4, and is now rounded out with the executive DS5.
