August 30 marked a momentous event for Autostrada Motore, the official dealer of Ferrari in the Philippines, as they celebrated their 5th year anniversary. Highlighting Autostrada's 5th anniversary was the new Ferrari 488 Spider, which was displayed on their newly-renovated showroom, along side the standard 488 GTB.
Since 2012, Autostrade Motore has been catering to the premium-luxury market in the local automotive industry. To mark another milestone of Autostrada during their 5th anniversary, the dealership has featured one of the latest Ferrari models, the 488 Spider, at the event. Soong hopes that the open-top model 488 will keep clients and Ferrari fans thrilled and excited about the brand.
“We opened our doors to the public in 2012, and we’ve been bringing one of the best, most powerful, and most recognized car brands to the Philippines ever since. Having delivered five years of the highest quality of customer service to our clients, our commitment to uphold this standard for the next 5, 10, 15 years has only gotten stronger,” said Wellington Soong, Chairman and president of Autostrada Motore.
The 488 Spider is the latest chapter in Ferrari's long history of open-top V8 sports cars. It is powered by the same 3.9-liter twin turbo V8 engine found on the 488 GTB. Power output is rated at 670 PS with a torque of 760 Nm, sending the 488 Spider from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds. A Ferrari that offers both top-notch driving performance and open-air motoring pleasure. Autostrada's first 488 unit is finished in the iconic Ferrari red.
Together with the anniversary, Autostrada also celebrated Angie King's victory during the fifth round of the Ferrari Challenge APAC in Sepang, Malaysia. Prior to the victory in Sepang, King managed to score a podium finish during her debut at Fuji Speedway in Japan, which was shown during a video presentation at the event.
King lead the 14-lap stint around Sepang from start to finish with the second placer, Ken Seto of Japan, lagging behind by 6.194 seconds. King currently places 4th overall in the Trofeo Pirelli AM class despite only entering the Challenge on the 4th round in Fuji.
Following Sepang, the Ferrari Challenge then heads to Singapore where Angie King will continue to bear the Philippine flag. Autostrada Motore will continue to support her throughout the rest of the Ferrari Challenge series.
