Autosweep RFID may now be used when travelling NLEX, SCTEX and CaviteX
Heading to the North from the South soon? Good news. The Department of Transporation (DOTr) has recently announced that the Autosweep RFID tags can now be used when travelling along expressways operated by Manila North Tollways Corporation (MTNC), specifically on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and Cavite Expressway (CaviteX).
In order to use the RFID on these MTNC operated expressways, one just needs to handover the Autosweep card to the assigned attendant for the subscription form to be processed. An initial load of Php 500 is required; and will be activated after three days.
Prior to the implementation of the Toll Interoperability Project, the Autosweep tags only worked on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX) and the SKWAY. Do note that this is only Phase 1 of the implementations in order to provide a faster and more hassle free travel for motorists on the expressway.
Phase 2 of the Toll Interoperability Project, which involves using Easytrip cards for expressways operated by the San Miguel Corporation, – SLEX, Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway) and NAIAX – is expected to be implemented soon.
