Thai coach builder Thairung presented the Transformer SUV at the 2015 Bangkok International Motor Show. Show in two versions, a standard and a high-roof accessorized variant called Transformer Max.

Transformer front-quarter 

The Transformer is based on a Toyota Hilux platform with the entire body replaced with an exterior design that seems to be a cross between a Land Rover Defender and Hummer H3. Dimension-wise, it measures 4901 mm long, 1787 mm wide, 1888 mm tall with a 3085 mm wheelbase.

Transformer dashboard 

The interior features the dashboard carried over from the Hilux which inherits the optitron meters, Toyota steering wheel, touchscreen navigation and entertainment system with connectivity functions like USB, Aux-in, but the all sides have been replaced with custom designed panels. The rear bench has been replaced with 2/3 and 1/3 split reclining seats. The second-row can also be fully folded for additional cargo space.

Transformer rear 

The Max version can be customized to get two front-facing third row seats or side-facing bench-type seats. The seats can also be removed to carry more cargo. The secondary air-conditioning system has also been moved to the ceiling for the Max version.

Powering the Transformer 2WD is a 2.5-liter 2KD-FTV rated at 144 PS and 343 Nm mated to a 5-speed automatic in two-wheel drive. The Transformer 4WD versions get the 3.0-liter 1KD-FTV rated at 171 PS and 343 Nm (MT), 360 Nm (AT); with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic.
