This year's Beijing International Auto Exhibition saw Chery reveal what they think will be the car of future. Called the FV2030 (Future Vision 2030), it's a sleek crossover that has an unconventional exterior design, fully-electric powertrain and autonomous driving capability.
Bearing the brand's 'Life in Motion' design language, the concept crossover shows the constant evolution of nature and human beings, according to Chery. Up front, the FV2030 features large air intakes, along with a floating grill. Seen on the side are large gullwing-type doors, black wheel arches and overly-large black alloy wheels. The sleek profiling continues towards the rear which gets thin taillights, a large tailgate, roof-mounted spoiler and an diffuser-integrated bumper.
Emphasizing, the brand's latest product design idea 'FUN', the FV2030 aims to allow consumers to enjoy their lives with Chery's products. Stepping inside, the FV2030 has a futuristic cabin with a minimalist touch. The concept crossover can seat four and has a lounge-like interior. Moreover. it has ambient LED lighting and a 3D holographic display for the infotainment system.
The concept's exact powertrain was not revealed, though Chery did say it is driven by an electric motor. Beyond that, the FV2030 also has what Chery calls 'smart pilotless technology' which allows the concept crossover to have the ability to drive by itself.
There is no word whether Chery will make a production version of the FV2030.
