Say hello to the Bentley Continental GT S and GTC S models
It's been nearly 5 years since Bentley unveiled the all-new Continental GT. Despite its age, the Crewe-based automaker has been busy releasing different variants of the third-generation grand tourer. From the Convertible, Speed, Speed Convertible, and the V8, Bentley has a Continental GT for every clientele.
For 2022, the luxury marque is offering an all-new variant of its famed coupe. But instead of going all out and equipping it with all types of kit and caboodle, the Crewe-based automaker applied a more subtle approach. This is the 2022 Bentley Continental GT S, and it's available in both the hardtop and convertible (aka GT C) models.
Both the GT S and GTC S models are powered by the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine found in the Continental GT V8 model. Power output remains the same at 550 PS and 770 Nm, allowing the grand tourer to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 4 seconds. However, the new S versions come with a quad-tip sports exhaust that accentuates the vehicle's already throaty exhaust note. It also comes with Bentley’s unique Dynamic Ride system, which consists of a 48-volt electric active anti-roll control system that makes sure the ride stays planted when cornering and minimizes body roll. This also improves the car's ride comfort.
Bentley also focused on giving the Continental GT S a sportier interior. Combining a sports and wellness theme, a mix of the best luxurious leather and Dinamica fabric engulfs the cabin of the vehicle. A two-tone interior will also be available for the S model for those who want to mix colors for their V8-powered Continental GT S. And to achieve a more driver-focused experience, Bentley is offering their wellness-focused Azure range. The Azure range will be offered in the regular GT model as the S is more performance-oriented. This is evident in the new driver graphics display.
To ensure the new Bentley Continental GT S is a head-turner, the S line gets 22-inch wheels with 5 Y-spokes and you can choose between the gloss black or Pale Brodgar satin finish. Available as an option is the 21-inch tri-spoke wheel in machined silver and gloss black. Red brake calipers will be standard and will give the car that extra zing.
Continuing the vehicle's dark theme, the car’s wing, radiator grille, and distinctive S badging are all painted gloss black. The headlights and taillights are also tinted to give that dramatic look. Only the Bentley badges and wording remain finished in chrome.
The new Continental GT S comes with driver-focused features and is designed to deliver a unique driving experience. We won't be surprised if Bentley distributor PGA Cars begin accepting pre-orders for this sporty grand tourer soon.
