By August 1, 2017, Ford Philippines will have a new managing director. A year and a half since Lance Mosley assumed the role, Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of Bertrand Lessard to succeed Mosley in the Philippines. Once his term is over, Mosley is repatriating to the U.S. after six years in the Asia Pacific region. “Lance put tremendous attention to improving Ford's after sales support of our customers, and the benefits of these efforts will be seen for years to come,” said Mark Kaufman, president of Ford ASEAN operations.
“Bertrand (Lessard) has a wealth of experience with Ford in markets around the world and his leadership will help us continue to grow our business and our brand in the Philippines," said Kaufman. Lessard has been involved with the Ford Motor Company for over 40 years, starting out as a began his career as a service technician at a Ford dealership in his home province of Quebec, Canada in 1976, and eventually joined Ford at its Canadian headquarters in Oakville, Ontario, as warranty claims analyst in 1984.
From there, Lessard handled Ford Canada's after-sales and advertising departments before moving to Dubai as Ford Middle East's marketing director in 1995. His first assignment in the Asia-Pacific region was as Ford Vietnam's sales and marketing director. Lessard's most recent role is Ford of France's general sales director, where he oversaw an initiative to improve relations with the nationwide dealer network though enhanced process efficiencies and communications. The Ford Motor Company hopes to drive the automaker's momentum in the Philippines under Lessard's direction.
