Tailor made 458 done by Ferrari Commercial Department with help from Maranello Style Centre
The Ferrari personalization program was brought to a new level as a Prancing Horse owner specifically requested that his new 458 Italia should feature the livery of the race cars from the mid-70’s as driven by legendary F1 driver Niki Lauda. The car was prepared with this exclusive design by the Commercial Department at Ferrari as part of the Tailor Made personalization program, with the collaboration of a personal designer from the Maranello Style Centre.
This bespoke Ferrari 458 Italia draws inspiration from the 1974 Ferrari 312 B3 racecar of Niki Lauda. Finished in Scuderia Red with gold rims, the car features a white roof with the Italian tricolore stripes and a thin red stripe running across the door pillars. Additional white colored highlights can be seen on the exterior.
The interior receives a similar treatment with the seats and central tunnel reprising the Italian flag motif and the racing aspect is accentuated by the type of seats and the red motif on their stitching, the dashboard and instrument panel and the steering wheel with LEDs, as well as the F1 type gear shifts.
Lauda was recently put on the spotlight after Oscar winning director Ron Howard released the film ‘Rush’ highlighting the rivalry between him and James Hunt.
