BGC-Ortigas Viaduct is now open
Getting from Pasig to BGC (and vice versa) is now faster with the BGC-Ortigas Viaduct

Motorists that frequently travel between Ortigas Center in Pasig City and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig can now cross the newly-opened Lawton Avenue to BGC Viaduct of the Kalayaan Bridge. With the section open, the entire BGC-Ortigas Link Road project is now complete.
An inauguration ceremony was held yesterday by members of the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH), Pasig City LGU, Taguig City LGU, and President Rodrigo Duterte himself.

The new viaduct, which complements the already finished 4-lane Kalayaan Bridge provides motorists a direct and faster link between the commercial districts of Ortigas and BGC. DPWH Secretary Mark Villar expects that the new viaduct will help reduce traffic congestion in both EDSA and C-5.
“With the opening of the entire BGC-Ortigas Road Link Project, we are seeing significant traffic decongestion, or as much as 20 percent traffic volume from nearby Epifanio delos Santos Avenue and C-5 Road sections,” said Villar.

More importantly, Villar added that the BGC-Ortigas Road Link Project will reduce travel time between BGC and Ortigas Center to only 12 minutes.
To get from Pasig City to BGC via the newly-opened viaduct, motorists will need to go to Sta. Monica Street in Pasig and cross the Kalayaan Bridge. From there, motorists can take the center viaduct which directly connects with 8th Avenue in BGC.

With the BGC-Ortigas Link Road now complete, will it help decongest traffic in both EDSA and C-5? More importantly, do you think it can reduce travel time between BGC and Ortigas to just 12 minutes? Let us know in the comments.
