Since the next generation 6-Series is still under development as seen in spy photos, BMW wants to keep sales of the current generation at a constant. To do so, the German marque has launched the M-Sport Limited Edition, available in all three body styles. The special edition includes new standard equipment along with other novelties that would pique customer interest.
All engine options on the limited edition 6 series would still be available. The only option for transmission would be an 8-speed automatic which sends power either the rear-wheels only or use BMW's xDrive AWD. Despite the powertrain remaining the same, the exterior has been made to stand out more.
The body is finished in a coat of Sonic Speed Blue metallic paint and now has redesigned 20-inch lightweight M alloy wheels, which features a bi-color design. To further distinguish the M-Sport Limited Edition from a standard 6-Series, it has carbon fiber side mirror covers.
Inside, the M-Sport has some subtle tweaks as well. All M-Sport Limited Edition seats will come with BMW Individual's fine-grain Merino leather finished in Black/Fjord Blue and will strictly be available to these units. To match the seats, the floor mats are also finishing in Fjord Blue piping.
Aside from the carbon fiber mirror covers, the interior trim is also finished with carbon fiber bits including the gear selector. Finishing it off, the step sills are finished in blue and has “M Sport Limited Edition” lettering on it
BMW will begin to take orders of the 6 Series M Sport Limited Edition next month, and says that the vehicles will only be available in exclusive numbers. The special edition will only be available in Europe, however, other regions will receive the new wheels and paint found on the limited edition vehicle.
