The BMW Group has hired Peter Schwarzenbauer, the former sales head of Audi, to head up the MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorcycles brands as well as aftersales.
Schwarzenbauer had been in charge of Audi's marketing and sales departments, and is credited with Audi's increased presence and sales volumes in key markets such as the U.S., China and Europe. Schwarzenbauer left Audi in August following a reshuffle.
Previously the 53 year old German was a part of BMW back in 1984, then left to join Porsche in 1994. Schwarzenbauer's return to BMW as head of MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorcycles is part of the BMW Group's effort to maintain their number one position in the premium segment.
