BMW has revealed a teaser video of its first mass-produced electric vehicle, the BMW i3. Set to be officially revealed on July 29, the i3 is based on the i3 Concept Coupe which features a range of customization to appeal to the needs of electric mobility.

The i3 is expected to be powered by BMW's eDrive technology that's envisioned on the i3 concept coupe which makes use of a 125 kW motor  and a battery pack that's good for a zero emission operation of up to 160km in a single charge.

More details about the BMW i3 can be expected as BMW unwraps it on July 29. The i3 is expected to go on sale later this year in both hybrid and pure electric-vehicle.
