Some readers may be familiar with the word 'Brabham', particularly in the field of motorsports. For those who don't, the company's namesake, Jack Brabham, is a legend in Formula 1, both as a racer and as a race car manufacturer. To this day, he is the only person in the sport to have a winning car with his name on it.
It's been decades since the name Brabham has been seen on a car but that will soon change. David Brabham, the founder's youngest son, has announced that they will be returning to the field of manufacturing real soon. However, the announcement didn't say if they will return to building open-wheel race cars, return to Formula 1 or go for making road cars.
Brabham's comeback in the world of automobiles dated as far back as 2014 with Project Brabham. They initially had plans of entering the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans with their own car in the LMP2 category but was not able to push through. Now, however, pundits are saying that they are now likely re-focusing their efforts in making high-performance road cars instead.
So for now, it's all speculation as to what the revived name will be doing. One thing is for sure however, and that would be the a performance-oriented future.
