Brabus amps up the power for Mercedes-AMG GLC 63

Brabus-tuned Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S packs a 600 HP punch

Manufacturers just can't get enough of crossovers but it also seems like tuning companies can't get enough of boosting them too. Brabus, a long time tuner of Mercedes-Benz AMG models, have just had their hands on the GLC and it packs quite a punch.

Whereas the standard GLC 63 S makes 510 PS and 700 Nm of torque, the folks from Brabus amped up the power by 90 PS and 100 Nm of torque. The result is a sports car-baiting 600 PS and a staggering 800 Nm of torque. To put that into perspective, those figures are even more than the Mercedes-AMG GT S which produces 522 PS and 670 Nm of torque.

With that much power on board, it's actually faster than the low-slung GT. 0 to 100 km/h sprints are claimed at 3.6 seconds, two tenths quicker than the AMG GT. To save the tires, Brabus capped the top speed at 300 km/h, which can still go toe to toe with some sports cars. 4Matic all-wheel drive is retained to reign in all that power and torque. This hefty power pack can be paired to both standard GLCs and the GLC Coupe.

Exterior mods are relatively subtle for a Brabus kit. Save for the big 'B' on the grill which replaces the three-pointed star, the body is left largely untouched. There are subtle changes mate to the front and rear bumpers which Brabus claims has aerodynamic benefits. Plus, there's a discreet carbon fiber chin on the front apron. The tweaked rear diffuser then houses carbon fiber wrapped exhaust tips. Lastly, Brabus offers a variety of wheels choices ranging from 19-inches, all the way to 22-inches with a Y-spoke design.

Inside, it's trimmed in leather and carbon fiber. For those who want a touch of old school luxury, Brabus also offers wood trim for the doors and other bits for the interior. Brabus badges are seen throughout the cabin to remind owners they're in a very special and potent Mercedes-AMG GLC.
