Bugatti Veyron designer joins BMW Group Design team

Jozef Kaban joins BMW as core brand designer, Domagoj Dukec to lead i and M designs

Future BMW models may soon have a slightly different look after the automaker announced that they have recruited new designers. Joining BMW chief designer Adrian van Hooydonk are Jozef Kaban and Domagoj Dukec.

44-year old Kaban from Slovakia left his post from Skoda as chief designer to join BMW. He was also the one responsible in designing the Bugatti Veyron hypercar. Other than that, Kaban also held various positions in Volkswagen Group before leaving the company.

On the other hand, 41-year old Dukec has been with BMW since 2010. His responsibilites included exterior design for the core brand, and more recently, designing for BMW i.

“I am looking forward to this strengthening of the BMW Group design team. Both Jozef Kabaň and Domagoj Dukec bring the experience, talent and vision we need for the future direction of our design,” said van Hooydonk.

Kaban replaces Karim Habib, who recently left the company of his own accord. The last designs that Habib did for BMW include the upcoming X7, Z4 replacement and the rumored 6-Series successor. Meanwhile, Dukec succeeds Benoit Jacob who was recruited by Chinese EV startup company Future Mobility Corp.
