A heads up for the motorists of Las Piñas and Bacoor, Cavite. A few days ago, CAVITEX management closed down a section of the Longos entry point into the expressway. That means those in the area will have to be a little more patient for the next few days.
If you frequent that area, you are probably wondering when things can get back to normal. There is good news from CAVITEX because the regular traffic scheme will resume in less than one week. The expressway's officials say this temporary closure will end on May 3, Monday. For now, there is an alternating lane scheme to keep traffic moving. That said, it has been a while since road works started on that part of the Longos entry point. Patches of the road have a new layer of asphalt, although parts of it are still pock-marked.
But what if you don't want to deal with the alternating lane schemes? What are your options? Those coming from Bacoor Boulevard or Molino Road must take Aguinaldo Highway to enter CAVITEX. Meanwhile, those based in Barangay Pamplona in Las Piñas and its surrounding areas can take the C-5 Extension on-ramp to reach Coastal Road.
Besides the repair work at the Longos entry, CAVITEX management has also started maintenance works on the Zapote Loop that heads into Bacoor and Las Piñas. Those who usually drive through that road have become all too familiar with how wavy it has become over the past couple of months. CAVITEX says that section is scheduled for heavy maintenance works. Expect heavy traffic in the area, but at least the bumps on that exit won't rattle your car anymore once it has been repaired.
