Only for Class 1 vehicles
The tollway management of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) has announced the implementation of a cost-effective way to make it easier for motorists to automate the payment toll fees for quicker tollgate transactions and to speed up traffic flow.
After initially being offered as a payment option for the LRT 1, LRT 2, MRT 3 and select public utility buses, the Beep card may now be used by private motorists who go on CAVITEX.
Motorists driving Class 1 vehicles may now use Beep cards to pay for their respective toll fees, Php 24 at the Paranaque exit and Php 64 at the Kawit, Cavite exit.
Using a trial run that began Monday, August 8, Beep card concessionaire AF Payments Inc. (AFPI) hopes that making the Beep card as a payment option at CAVITEX is the next step in making the Beep card an ‘all-in-one’ travel card.
“We hope that the low cost of the beep card and the wide network of loading options being developed will appeal to drivers who pass along Cavitex and are interested in passing the toll gates more quickly,” said AFPI CEO and President Peter Maher.
Meanwhile, CAVITEX management lauds the move indicating that this is part of their strategy to keep in step with the modernization of transportation and mobility in the Philippines.
“Now, even private vehicle owners and their passengers can feel the benefit of the beep card,” said Cavitex CEO and President J. Luigi Bautista.
Reloading of Beep cards for use on CAVITEX can be done at the Parañaque Customer Service Center during this trial phase.
Beep cards can be purchased for only Php 20, is reloaded and is valid for four years.
