Motorists can now pre-register for RFID sticker to enter CCLEX
Earlier this August, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) announced that the 8.9-km Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CLLEX) will open in Q1 of 2022. At the time, the bridge was already 80% complete which meant work on the mega project was nearly done.
Then in October, CCLEC said that work on the main bridge has been completed. This was made official after workers finished pouring concrete on the final segment of the main bridge deck. With the project nearing completion, it looks like CCLEC will be able to finish it on schedule.
Recently, the company announced that as of October 31, the CCLEX is now 87% complete. As a result, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) is now allowing interested motorists to sign up and schedule for the RFID sticker installation in order to pass through CCLEX. Currently, workers are busy with the construction of the slab deck at the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) on-ramp and off-ramp sections of CCLEX. In addition, slab deck construction is also being conducted at the Cebu Viaduct section.
Aside from these, work is also being done for the upcoming toll plazas, CCLEX Operations and Maintenance Center, and the Toll Operations Center Building.
Once the bridge is officially open, it is expected to help decongest traffic in Metro Cebu, as well as spur economic development in both Cebu and Cordova.
