Volkswagen is set to show to the world how they view the future of mobility with a new powertrain and infotainment system that is plugged in to their latest concept vehicle.

The German automaker’s head, Dr. Herbert Diess, will address the media at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA on January 5, 2016 to present Volkswagen’s developments in electromobility and connectivity that will be implemented on the concept car within the next few years.

This yet-unnamed concept vehicle will, according to Volkswagen, usher in "a new era of affordable long-distance electromobility" and will also showcase how the brand is working towards the interconnectivity of vehicles in the future to make the roads safer.

Volkswagen will also debut new display and operating concepts and their advancements in in-car infotainment that we’ll be seeing in models that are already in the pipeline.

The automaker is also set to announce that the Golf R Touch concept will be included in Volkswagen's broad product portfolio.
