It was only last week when Honda revealed the all-new Civic Hatchback. Like the sedan, it gets a design makeover and looks more mature than its predecessor.
Compared to the sedan, the five-door hatchback serves as the sportier version of the new 11th-generation Civic. It's also why the Type R will be based on this model. With that, we won't be surprised if aftermarket tuners are already be preparing body kits and other neat upgrades for the Civic Hatchback. It seems Honda thought the same. As a result, the automaker has already released a catalog of OEM accessories for the five-door hatch to spice up its looks from the dealership.
First launched in Japan, the new add-ons give the Civic Hatch a sleeker appearance. It gets a new front lip spoiler, MS-038 aluminum alloy wheels, black side mirror covers, rear wing spoiler, and even tinted rain guards on the side windows.
Apart from the exterior accessories, Honda is also offering subtle interior upgrades on the hatchback. Perhaps the most noticeable is the illuminated Civic badge on the door sills, which provide cool ambient lighting. Then there's the projector that lights up the ground with a Civic emblem when the door is opened.
While these upgrades make the five-door Civic look even sportier, will these be available on the sedan too? There's no word yet from Honda about OEM accessories for the sedan. But given that both share similar styling cues, we won't be surprised to see them available on the four-door, too.
As for the price, Honda is still tight-lipped about the SRP of each accessory. Expect to pay a premium price, though, as OEM accessories don't normally come cheap.
With the all-new Civic set to be launched in the country soon, will Honda Cars Philippines offer OEM accessories for the sedan? Watch this space to find out.
