The Toyota Hilux's 50th birthday celebration just keeps on going. Aside from the limited-run Z Black Rally Edition, Toyota has also put out the new TRD kit options for the popular pickup. For those in Japan, you can even order the TRD pack on top of the Z Black Rally Edition, making it an even rarer ute.

Like the Z Black Rally Edition, the TRD Hilux is devoid of all chrome, going for a gloss-black treatment instead. In addition to overfenders, the kitted-up pick-up also gets red highlights on its body. A bright red TRD skid plate further protects the underbelly, covering up vital components when off-roading.

There are more red touches on the fog light housings, featuring a new gloss-finished bezel surrounding the light. It also gets the same Land Cruiser-inspired grill from the Black Rally Edition. Instead of the usual body-molded step boards, the TRD version has a full metal side step.

A sports bar on the bed is also available, and so are TRD decals on the flanks of the bed and on the doors. Bigger mudflaps can be specified on the TRD Hilux, which has the in-house tuning division's name displayed boldly. Plus, it gets a bit of a performance boost thanks to a custom exhaust with its twin tips. For audiophiles, one can option for the TRD Speaker Set courtesy of JBL, giving it bigger speakers and a 150-watt stereo amplifier.

For now, the TRD package is only available in Japan. Given that Toyota Philippines offered the kit here, it is possible that the local market will be getting it in due time as an upgrade to the Conquest models. It may take a while, however, as the kit has yet to make its way outside of its home country.
