Chery PH greets 2021 with the launch of the Tiggo 7 Pro
Chery has just opened 2021 with a bang with the launch of a new crossover. After being teased late last December, Chery Auto Philippines has officially launched the all-new Tiggo 7 Pro.
Aimed squarely against the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross, and Honda HR-V, the Tiggo 7 Pro blends stylish looks and high-tech amenities in a compact crossover package but at an outstanding introductory price.
Featuring the brand's latest design philosophy, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a stylish front grille, sleek LED headlights (with LED daytime running lights), and a floating roof design. Giving it a more sophisticated look are the silver trim pieces, unpainted plastic cladding, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED taillights reminiscent of the Tiggo 8's. If that's not enough, Chery even put an illuminated garnish at the back for all to see.
Size-wise, Chery's latest crossover measures 4500mm long, 1824mm wide, and 1746mm tall. It also has a generous 2670mm wheelbase and 163mm of ground clearance.
Despite being smaller than the flagship Tiggo 8, the Tiggo 7 Pro appears to have borrowed some styling (and tech) elements from the former. It gets a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and smartphone mirroring, as well as a digital climate control complete with rear vents.
Other available amenities? It gets a massive panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, LED ambient lighting, N95 cabin air filtration, power-adjustable front seats, multimedia and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, and full-leather upholstery.
With the rear seats deployed, the Tiggo 7 Pro can carry 475-liters worth of luggage. In case you need more space, the rear seats can be folded flat to provide 1,500-liters worth of cargo space.
Powering the Tiggo 7 Pro is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four. It makes 145 PS at 5500 rpm along with 230 Nm of torque at 1750 – 4000 rpm. Unlike its stablemates which mostly makes use of a dual-clutch transmission, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a CVT that drives the front wheels.
In terms of safety features, the Tiggo 7 Pro has plenty. It has anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction and stability control, 360-degree around-view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, tire pressure monitoring system, six airbags, and even a rear tailgate that opens automatically if you stand behind it with the key for 3 seconds.
Prices for Chery's newest offering starts at PHP 1,198,000 for the Tiggo 7 Pro. Available colors include Blazing Black, Brilliant Teal, Raident Red, and Sporty White.
Meanwhile, the more affordable Tiggo 7 Comfort is available at PHP 1,128,000.
