Iseway Motors Philippines, Inc., the former distributor of Chery vehicles in the country, has just opened their new Chery dealership in Metro Manila along Taft Avenue.
The showroom will be operated by Iseway, replacing the previous Pasong Tamo, Makati showroom.
"In the next three months this showroom will be run by the sales team of Iseway while preparing for a full dealership with sales, spare parts and service," explains Conrad Ivan Cruz, Assistant Manager for Dealer Network Development at Chery Motors Philippines, Inc. Mr. Cruz adds that the actual dealership operations will be taken over by Virgilio "Tito" Yupangco.
For his part Dr. Si-Chung Chang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chery Motors Philippines, welcomed the partnership with Mr. Yupangco who used to manage the Dealer Network Group under Iseway. "This partnership proves the continuing confidence in Chery as an emerging automotive brand. Our direction is clear - revive the dealer channels and strengthen the current network - in order to go about slowly rebuilding the brand in the country."
Chery made their local debut in 2007, but quickly lost ground due to lackluster after sales service, particularly in the supply of replacement and spare parts. Iseway was the original distributor, but was succeeded by Chery Motors Philippines, Inc.
