The brand's first global midsize sedan
General Motors Korea just released the Chevrolet Malibu at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show, it is an important model for the brand as it will serve as its first global midsize sedan. The automaker displayed several Malibus with a range of colors, offering show goers an opportunity to observe the car up close.
The Malibu comes with a choice of 2.0 and 2.4-liter Ecotec gasoline engines mated with a six-speed automatic transmission, and offers precise ride and handling that can be considered at par with higher-end sports sedans. It also carries design DNA from the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette to bring a sporty feel to the family sedan segment.
The Chevrolet Malibu aims to offer the same amount of luxury and comfort just like the well-known luxury enclave in California from where its name came from. To achieve all of these, it makes use of components such as noise-reducing outside rearview mirrors, acoustic laminated front glass and noise-absorption pads that prevent tire, wind and road noise from entering the cabin.
“The area around Gangnam Station is a dynamic cultural hotspot with the largest floating population in Seoul. The unique character of the area is consistent with the lifestyle offered by the new Malibu sedan,” said Ankush Arora, GM Korea Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales. “Through our one-of-a-kind activity, we want consumers to experience for themselves sporty design inspired by the Chevrolet Camaro, luxurious, and comfortable interior of the Malibu.”
