Chevrolet distributor TCCCI teases Corvette C8

Last year, Chevrolet distributor The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI) announced that the all-new Corvette C8 will arrive sometime in 2021. But with only several weeks to go before the year ends, there are still no signs of the sports car's arrival.

However, it seems that all changes now. Chevrolet Philippines recently posted a new photo on its official Facebook page. While it's not yet the Corvette C8 itself, the automaker did post the vehicle's signature logo. This confirms that the all-new sports car is indeed on its way here.

But how can we be sure that the logo posted came from the C8 and not the C7? It's easy to mistake the C7's logo for the C8's since they have a similar design. But whereas the C7 logo is wider, the C8's logo is narrower and sees the two flags merge along the Y-axis.

Last month, a local Chevrolet dealership is supposedly getting ready to accept orders for the Corvette C8. They also mentioned that the mid-engine sports car will retail for roughly PHP 9.9 million. That's pretty expensive, especially when compared to the outgoing Corvette C7, which currently retails for PHP 8,546,888.

Under the hood, we can expect the C8 to be powered by a 6.2-liter, naturally-aspirated V8 that makes 496 PS with 637 Nm of torque. It is then paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. As a result, the C8 can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.

Per the dealership's announcement, the PH-spec Corvette will come in the top-trim 3LT package. As a result, expect full-leather upholstery, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a Bose 14-speaker sound system, and GT2 bucket seats.

Excited about the local launch of the Corvette C8? We are.
