Care to guess the latest celebrity to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Well, if you guessed either Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio or some other A-list celeb, then sorry to say you're wrong.
This celebrity has been in more than 1750 films and television series in the span of a 67-year career period. In fact, the A-lister continues to act on the big screen today, playing both hero and bad guy.
Who’s this multi-accredited celebrity you ask? Well, it is none other than the Chevrolet Suburban.
No, we're not kidding. Chevrolet’s largest SUV has just been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, beating out several Oscar-winning actors and actresses in the industry. Coincidentally, it is also the first inanimate object (not to mention vehicle) to ever be awarded a Hollywood star.
According to Chevrolet, the relationship between the Suburban and Hollywood itself started in 1952 when it first appeared on the silver screen. In fact, the automaker even says that their biggest SUV has appeared in at least one television series every year since 1956, and at least one film every year since 1960. Additionally, it has even appeared in more than 30 award-nominated films.
“For six decades the Chevrolet Suburban has been Hollywood’s longest-working actor. Appearing in classic feature films and on must-see television shows, the Suburban is a well-established industry mainstay. With the Chevrolet Tahoe also making an impact in movies and on television, it’s impressive to have both vehicles now join an illustrious group of actors and characters that are forever known as Hollywood legends,” said Rana Ghadban, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
The Hollywood star was awarded to the large SUV ahead of the reveal of the updated Tahoe and Suburban’s reveal later this month.
